Pigmentation Laser Treatment | Post-Care Instructions

Pigmented lesions are darker areas of the skin caused by excess melanin in skin cells. Some pigmented lesions are present at birth, such as birthmarks, and some are acquired over time, such as sunspots on sun-exposed areas. After your appointment is it very important to follow our aftercare instructions. See below for everything you need to know about caring for your skin after a laser pigmentated lesion removal.

Keep out of direct sunlight for 24 to 48 hours, use gentle cleansers for 10 days post-treatment. Exfoliate gently on days 5,6, and 7.

AVOID: Direct sunlight, astringent products, facial scrubs, oral acne medications, heat, Retin-A, or hydroquinone.

RECOMMEND: Leave face dry and do not pick. Maintain the treatment schedule.

EXPECTATIONS: Pigmentation will fade over a period of 4 to 6 weeks, dead pigmented skin cells will exfoliate during the healing process and skin will tighten.

For maximum results - three treatments, time between treatments is six weeks.
